The SHRM Foundation was founded in 1966 as a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors from the HR profession, including academics, practitioners and representatives from SHRM. The Foundation funds research, publications and education to advance the HR profession and enhance the effectiveness of HR professionals.

The Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) is the leading independent, internationally recognized certifying body for the HR profession. HRCI certifications require professionals to demonstrate their expertise in the core principles of HR practice and the application of those principles. HRCI's three core certifications meet the needs of nearly every HR professional.

The Southeast Texas Human Resource Association (SETHRA) is sponsoring a fantastic local training opportunity for your managers and supervisors!

Renowned author, trainer and business consultant Al Lucia will be in Beaumont for two ½ day seminars designed to help your supervisors and managers improve their skills and learn new ways to build commitment and motivate your employees.

The topic for the first half of the day will be “From Employee to Supervisor-Making and Managing the Transition”.  In this session, your new and current supervisors and managers will learn the best practices for meeting the challenges of this difficult yet critical change.  In today’s fast-paced and highly competitive environment, organizations expect their newly promoted people to get the job done, but often don’t give the “new guy” the tools or attention that he needs and deserves to be successful.  This can be a critical mistake, since poor supervisors have been shown to be a major cause of turnover in the workplace.  Al’s presentation will help the new supervisor understand his role, and it will help your managers ensure that supervisors will stay on the track to success.

In the 2nd half of the day, Al will focus on “Coaching and Developing Employees”.  In this session, Al will help your supervisors and managers learn how to design and implement a “game plan” to build employee engagement and commitment so that your organization can achieve maximum results.

These seminars are sponsored by the Southeast Texas Human Resource Association, and are being co-sponsored by TOTAL Petrochemicals, the Texas Association of Business, the Industrial Safety Training Council, and Associated Builders and Contractors – SETX.
